Big Train College Round Up: 4/23/2015

Calvin Copping (BT '15) strides off the mound for Cal State Northridge.

This week of college baseball featured some good outings from Big Train players including walk-off hits, good pitching, and solid overall performances.

At Sacramento State, Brandon Hunley (BT ’15), had two two-hit games this week, including two doubles and a triple.  Chris Lewis (BT ’14-15) kept his momentum rolling from last week, garnering six hits and three RBI this week.

Calvin Copping (BT ’15) of Cal State Northridge had another tremendous outing on the mound despite losing the game, 1-0.  Copping went eight innings of two hit and one run ball.

San Diego State’s, Alan Trejo (BT ’15), has three appearances from the mound this season, totaling two innings, allowing three hits and no runs.

Logan Farrar (BT ’13-15) earned VCU a victory over Maryland in walk-off fashion.  In the bottom of the 10th inning, Farrar was up with the bases loaded, and singled up the middle for the winning run.  The video can be found on Twitter (@gobigtrain).

George Mason has seen good production from two Big Train players.  Brandon Gum (BT ’12, ’15) accounted for seven hits and five RBI this week, while Tyler Tobin (BT ’15) has only allowed one earned run in his last 14 appearances.

Ricky Santiago (BT ’13) out of Florida Atlantic had two home runs in one game this week.

In 17.1 innings this season, Will Resnik (BT ’12-14) has posted a meager 1.04 ERA.
