After nearly seven years with the Big Train organization, Chris Rogers is stepping down from his position as General Manager on April 1 to pursue other opportunities. 

An avid Big Train fan growing up, Chris officially joined the organization in 2015 as a writing intern. That summer, he honed his writing and interviewing skills while also serving as the one of the team’s official scorers, scoreboard operators, and social media managers. 

Chris continued to help throughout the offseason and returned for the 2016 season as the Head Intern and Volunteer Coordinator, a position he held for two summers. In this role, he managed the summer volunteer operation and pregame ceremonies as well as oversaw the team’s media and website content. 

After the 2017 season, he joined the Big Train front office as the team’s Assistant General Manager. In this role, he helped grow the team’s internship program, expand the organization’s online media presence, and spearheaded projects such as the 2019 souvenir program. 

When the Bethesda Community Base Ball Club (BCBBC) retook stewardship of the Big Train in the summer of 2020, Chris was named the ninth General Manager in team history. In his time as General Manager, he launched the bigtrain.tv program, expanded merchandise options, strengthened food offerings, professionalized ticket operations, oversaw two successful holiday auctions, and planned and executed the safe return of Big Train baseball at Shirley Povich Field during the pandemic last summer.

At the 2022 Base Ball & Holiday Auction, we will be presenting Chris with a well earned Randy Schools Big Train Outstanding Service Award. We wish him the best of luck in his next endeavor!"
