On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the Bethesda Big Train picked up their 5th win of the season by defeating the the DC Grays, 14-3.  The Big Train have started the season 5-0, dominating in every aspect of the game.  The Big Train bats were live accumulating 15 hits and four home runs.  Kit Scheetz (Virginia Tech) took the hill for the Big Train, pitching five innings of three hit ball, giving up only two runs, walking none, and striking out four batters in his first win of the season.

In the top of the 4th inning, with the game tied at zero, the Big Train bats were unleashed, starting a frenzy of scoring.  Stephen Alemais (Tulane) led off the inning with a single, stole second base, and then scored on a Logan Farrar (Virginia Commonwealth) single.  Next batter, Ryne Willard (N.C. State) singled, moving Farrar over to third base.  Andrew Brown (San Diego State) kept the train moving with a single of his own, scoring Farrar. But the inning wasn't over just yet.  After a pitching change, Tony DiLeo (Eastern Michigan) singled in Chris Lewis and then Stephen Alemais hit into a fielders choice that scored Tatum.  This huge inning gave Big Train a 7-0 lead, and there was no looking back against the Grays.

The scoring continued for the Big Train in the 5th inning, when Grant Brown came up with one out, and hit the first home run of the regular season for Bethesda.  Cody Manzella (High Point) singled and then scored on the second home run of the inning for the Big Train by Chris Lewis, giving him three RBIs in his first start.  The Big Train was up 10-1 after five innings of play.
