High-Fives for a victorious Big Train
With ace pitcher Drew Strotman (St. Mary’s) on the mound, the Bethesda Big Train look to pick up their second straight victory against the Rockville Express.
Strotman has been lights out all season long, accumulating a 3-1 record over four starts with a dazzling 0.81 ERA and 22 strikeouts.
He will have a clear advantage against a struggling Express offense, who has accumulated the least amount of runs in the Cal Ripken Sr. League.
The last time these two teams met, the Big Train exploded for nine runs, including scoring six in the third inning.
Vinny Esposito (Sac St.) had an impressive day at the plate. He notched three hits in three at-bats including a solo homerun and two RBIs, hey cruising to a 9-2 victory.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:30pm at Shirley Povich Field. It is End Hunger in Montgomery County night, stop by your local Giant Foods and donate canned goods to support a phenomenal cause and watch some baseball for free!
