For the final time this season the Big Train will take on the archrival Baltimore Redbirds Tuesday night.

The Big Train currently sit at 23-8, one game back from the Alexandria Aces in the South Division, while the Redbirds are 19-12 and first place in the North Division.

The most recent chapter in the Big Train – Redbirds rivalry came on July 5 when Baltimore stormed back from a five-run deficit late in the ballgame before stealing the game in the tenth on a Lael Lockhart Jr. walk-off single.

For the Big Train staying on the gas pedal from start to finish will be crucial. The team’s most recent win over the Gaithersburg Giants on Sunday provided a glimpse at what the roster is capable of when focused.  The Big Train went off for 16 hits, including four home runs, in a 13-0 win.

Maryland's Zach Jancarski and Justin Morris are players to watch at the plate Wednesday night. Jancarski enters the contest on a five-game hit streak, while Morris is coming off a 2-for-4 night with a triple and home run against the Giants.

The Bethesda batters will look to continue their success at the plate against projected Redbirds starter Zach Attianese. The North Carolina product is 1-1 with a 1.47 ERA in six appearances. He has not faced the Big Train this season.

The Big Train coaching staff has yet to name a starting pitcher but the bullpen, a thorn in Bethesda’s side all year outside of closer Stephen Schoch (UMBC), will likely be rested and ready to go after the day off courtesy of the All-Star Game.

First pitch from Calvert Hall is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
