The Big Train rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 15th to walk off the Aces in a four hour, 20-minute contest. The win pulled Bethesda into a tie for first place in the South.

Now, the Big Train will look to defend their place atop the division in a Friday night game against the Grays.

“We’ve just got to be mentally prepared,” manager Sal Colangelo said. “We’ll try to give some guys a break.”

The Big Train can feel good about their chances against D.C., whom they’ve beat in all four previous meetings this season. At 11-21, the Grays sit at the bottom of the South division.

Though the squad might be a little tired after Thursday’s marathon win, the Big Train players know how to recover and switch gears for their next challenge.

“Get a good night’s rest, sleep in a little bit, and show up to the ballpark ready to go tomorrow,” James Outman (Sacramento State) said.
