Big Train travels to Gaithersburg for one of the last games of the season

After defeating the D.C. Grays in a close battle, Big Train improves their record to 32 wins and 6 losses, putting them one game away from tying the biggest number of wins that Big Train has ever had in their 20 year history.

They travel to Gaithersburg, Maryland today to take on the Giants, who, along with Big Train and the Redbirds, have clinched a spot in playoffs. The Giants remain ranked second in the Cal Ripken North division with a record of 20 wins and 18 losses.

In four previous matches against the Giants, Big Train has come out with the win for every game. Big Train looks to continue this trend today, as well as push themselves to tie their record for most amount of wins in a season. Standout players for the Giants include: Saul Garza, who leads the team with 5 homeruns, 26 RBI, and a batting average of 0.282; Nick Yovetich, who stands out with 3 homeruns, 15 RBI, and a batting average of 0.223; Andres Machado, who leads the team with a batting average of 0.326 and 12 RBI. and Ryan Brown, who stands out with 1 homerun, 14 RBI, and a batting average of 0.303.

First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the home ballpark of the Gaithersburg Giants.
