Big Train College Round Up: 5/8/2015![]()
This week's College Round Up will feature stat lines of some of the college athletes who are playing for Big Train this summer. Some of the numbers are very impressive, including Logan Farrar ('13-'15) who has a .321 batting average for the VCU Rams.

Brandon Hunley (BT '15) - 164 AB, .232 BA, .328 OBP, 11 dbl, 1 trp, 2 hr, 20 RBI
- Hunley recently hit a two-run homer against Chicago State.
Chris Lewis (BT '14-15) - 159 AB, .258 BA, 4 dbl, 2 trp, 4 hr, 27 RBI
Cal State Northridge
Calvin Copping (BT '15) - 11 GS, 5-5, 70.2 IP, 80 k, 2.80 ERA
George Mason
Brandon Gum (BT '12,'15) - 169 AB, .355 BA, 10 dbl, 30 RBI, 5 SB
- Gum recorded four more hits in George Mason’s recent three-game series again Davidson including two doubles. Gum is now sixth in the Atlantic 10 Conference in batting average
Tyler Tobin (BT '15) - 19.1 IP, 8 h, 16 k, 7 sv, 2.33 ERA
San Diego State
Andrew Brown (BT '14-15) - 202 AB, .302 BA, 16 dbl, 2 trp, 27 RBI
Alan Trejo (BT '15) - 114 AB, .246 BA, .348 OBP, 7 dbl, 13 RBI
- Bubba Derby (BT ’14) pitched a gem against UNLV last weekend, giving up one run on three hits with six strikeouts in seven innings.
Saint Mary’s College (CA)
Zach Kirtley (BT '15) - 177 AB, .362 BA, .452 OBP, 10 dbl, 25 RBI
- In two games versus Santa Clara on May 1 and May 2, Kirtley went 6 for 8 with two walks.
Matt Toscano (BT '15) - 97 AB, .247 BA, 8 RBI
Virginia Commonwealth
Logan Farrar (BT '13-15) - 190 AB, .321 BA, 10 dbl, 2 trp, 3 hr, 22 RBI, 6 sb
Mississippi State

Florida Atlantic
David McKay (BT '15) - 18.1 in, 16 k, 2.95 ERA
- FAU moves up to the No. 12 ranking in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll and is No. 14 in the Perfect Game poll. They play Rice University in a three-game series this weekend with possible championship implications.
