We are very excited about all the great promotions, theme nights and giveaways happening at Povich Field this summer! Highlights include our Opening Night T-shirt giveaway on June 3 and Cal Ripken Sr. Bobbleheads on June 19! And don't forget about our nightly giveaways such as the City Sports T-Shirt Toss, Qdoba Burrito Dash, and interactive between-inning games like the Big Train Mascot Race, Muscial Chairs, Big Shoes to Fill and more!

Roster Preview

The pitchers on the roster are a young group that saw limited action with their college team, but hope to proove their abilities in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League this summer.  Big Train is returning four pitchers from last year.

The hitters and fielders on the roster have shown they will be force to be reckoned with in the Cal Ripken League this summer.  The middle infielders and outfielders on Big Train have posted guady numbers for their colleges

Some of the most impressive stat lines come from:

Blake Smith posted a 0.45 ERA in 40 innings at Shelton State Community College.

Mark Nowatnick posted a 1.59 ERA in 11.1 innings for highly ranked Florida Atlantic.

Tyler Tobin posted a 2.05 ERA in 22 appearances for the Patriots of George Mason.

Brandon Gum (George Mason), Zach Kirtley (St. Marys College CA), Cody Brown (Mississippi State), and Logan Farrar (VCU) all recorded a batting average over .300 for the season.  A number that is coveted by many baseball players.
