Big Train Continue Hot Streak, Score 14 in Route of Orioles

Bo Logan continues to lead the CRCBL in ERA.
Box Score: W, 14-2

Bo Logan (Florida Atlantic) continued his dominance on the mound as the Big Train continued their hot streak and won 14-2 over the Youse's Orioles.

Logan now leads all qualified pitchers in the CRCBL in earned run average by more than a run as his fabulous performance last night (five innings, no runs, two hits, three walks, and six strikeouts) decreased his ERA to a meager 1.98 on the season.

Though they needed barely any hitting with Logan on the mound, the Big Train bats did more than their fare share as well. After scoring a run in the first inning, the Big Train batted around in the second and scored five runs on a barrage of walks and singles.

The Big Train expanded their lead to 9-0 through five innings as the fourth and fifth innings brought three runs to the plate, all on sacrifice flies. Cole Norton (St. Mary's (CA)) drove in another run in the seventh inning to make the lead 10-0.

In the eighth, the Big Train put together another rally and put four more runs on the board. The bases were quickly loaded as Avondre Bollar (San Diego Stare) singled and Tucker Tobin (George Mason) and Brennan Middleton (Tulane) both walked. From there, a Michael Bass (UNC-Wilmington) sacrifice fly, a double by Norton, a Brendan Hendriks (San Francisco) RBI groundout, and a Hunter Renfroe (Mississippi State) accounted for a run a piece.

Renfroe's RBI was his 43rd, tying the Big Train and CRCBL season records set last season by teammate Adam Barry (Cal State Northridge).

Though the Orioles were able to score two in the ninth, the Big Train walked away with the 14-2 victory with help from Ethan Miller's (San Diego State) four innings of relief.
