American Athletic Conference

First Team

Alec Burleson (BT 2018), Outfield, East Carolina. Burleson followed up his remarkable 2018 summer with an impressive spring for No. 8 ECU. He led the Pirates with a .371 average and 52 RBIs, and his 21 doubles led the American Conference. He finished second in the conference in hits (79) and third in batting average. His strong season on the mound (2.98 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 54 K in 51 innings, 5 saves) earned him Second-Team utility honors as well.

America East Conference

Second Team

Stephen Schoch (BT 2016-17), Relief Pitcher, UMBC. Schoch led the Retrievers in innings pitched for the second straight season, despite being used primarily out of the bullpen (19 appearances, 2 starts). He whiffed 64 hitters in 52.2 innings with a 3.59 ERA, and partway through the season became UMBC’s all-time saves leader.

Atlantic 10 Conference (A10)

First Team

Logan Driscoll (BT 2017), Catcher, George Mason. Driscoll has been remarkably consistent throughout his college career - he hit .323 as a freshman, .342 as a sophomore, and now .343 this year as a junior. The Patriots backstop led his team in nearly every offensive category, including average, OPS (1.060), doubles (12), homers (9), RBIs (33), total bases (101) and steals (7), while walking as many times as he struck out.

Conference USA

First Team

Blake Sanderson (BT 2017), Starting Pitcher, Florida Atlantic. Sanderson dominated in his senior season as the Owls’ ace, pitching to a 3.68 ERA in 85.2 innings of work on the mound. He threw at least six innings in 10 of his 14 starts, including a complete game victory over Northeastern on March 8.

Second Team

Andru “Udie” Summerall (BT 2018), Outfield, Florida Atlantic. Summerall found his groove in the heart of the Owls’ order this spring, slashing .301/.384/.505 while starting 51 of the team’s 55 games. His 16 doubles and 54 RBIs paced Florida Atlantic, while he finished second on the team in homers (8) and total bases (104).

Northeastern Conference

First Team

Gaby Cruz (BT 2017), Designated Hitter, Bryant. Cruz finished second on the Bulldogs with a .353/.453/.602 slash line, and ranked fifth on the team with nine homers, despite being the only one in the top five with less than 200 plate appearances.

Southeastern Conference (SEC)

First Team

Tanner Allen (BT 2017), First Base, Mississippi State. Allen was a central figure in the No. 3 Mississippi State lineup all season long, and ended the regular season strong with at least three hits in five of his last seven contests. He finished with a .348/.432/.527 slash line, six homers, 20 doubles, 118 total bases and a team-best 59 RBIs while starting all 56 games for the Bulldogs.

West Coast Conference

First Team

Ken Waldichuk (BT 2017), Starting Pitcher, St. Mary’s. Waldichuk was not quite as dominant this spring as he was a year ago, but nonetheless cemented himself as a bonafide ace for the Gaels, leading the conference with 96 strikeouts in 87.1 innings. The left-hander posted a 3.71 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and a paltry .216 opponents’ average.

Second Team

Carlos Lomeli (BT 2018), Starting Pitcher, St. Mary’s. Lomeli started the season bouncing between the rotation and the bullpen, but soon proved to be one of the Gaels’ best starters. In 15 appearances (13 starts), he tossed 81 innings with a 3.11 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. His complete-game shutout against Portland on April 7 kicked off a dominant end to the year for the sophomore right-hander, as he went at least seven innings in four of his last seven outings.

Tyler Villaroman (BT 2018), Outfield, San Francisco. Villaroman hit .285 with a .364 OBP for the Dons this spring. A constant threat on the basepaths, he stole 21 bases in 23 attempts, good for second in the conference.

Honorable Mention

Kevin Milam (BT 2017), Utility, St. Mary’s. One of the nation’s premier two-way stars, Milam slashed .317/.417/.508 with seven homers, 41 RBIs and a team-high 17 doubles. On the mound, he pitched to a 5.94 ERA, but struck out 64 batters in 50 innings, and excelled after a mid-season transition to the bullpen.

Scott Parker (BT 2018), Starting Pitcher, San Francisco. A reliever for most of his career, Parker made a seamless transition to the rotation this season, where he led the Dons with eight wins and ranked second in innings pitched (70) and strikeouts (59).
