The mission of the Big Train Bullpen Club is “to represent and reflect the voice and vision of the fans of the Bethesda Big Train back to the leadership of the Bethesda Community Base Ball Club; to promote awareness of Big Train baseball in the local community; to ensure a fan friendly environment at Shirley Povich Field that is welcoming to fans of all ages and backgrounds; and to support the charitable mission of the Bethesda Community Base Ball Club both at Shirley Povich Field and in the community at large.”
The principal role of members of the Bullpen Club is to serve as the voice and vision of the fans of Bethesda Big Train baseball. While the members of the Board of the Bethesda Community Base Ball Club (BCBBC) are responsible for providing fiduciary oversight and directing the overall policy and administration of the BCBBC, the members of the Bullpen Club are charged with making sure the leadership of BCBBC hears the voice of Big Train fans about how to enhance the experience of Big Train baseball at Shirley Povich Field.
Additionally, the Bullpen Club is a key aspect of our game night operations. Bullpen Club members serve as welcomers and ushers, help to keep the seating areas orderly, and assist fans who have questions. The Big Train also features a robust middle and high school volunteer program, so parents can help out at games while their children accrue important Student Service Learning Hours! Bullpen Club members receive an official Bullpen Club shirt to be worn at games while on duty, an 10 ticket flex pack, and a picnic dinner with Big Train Manager Sal Colangelo and the Big Train players. In return, Bullpen Club members commit volunteering at five or more games.
If you’re interested, please reach out to Big Train General Manager Harrison Meyers at Harrison@bigtrain.org, or Big Train President Bruce Adams at Bruce@greaterwash.org.
The BCBBC Board also looks to the members of the Bullpen Club to help the staff and Board ensure a fan friendly environment at Shirley Povich Field that is welcoming to fans of all ages and backgrounds.
The Bullpen Club was established by action of the Board of Directors of Bethesda Community Base Ball Club.
