Rating the Povich Field Fan Experience

by Bruce Adams

We are pleased to report that two of the top reviewers of ballparks — Stadium Journey and Ballpark Brothers — visited Povich Field this summer and both gave us high marks for the fan experience. We are proud to share these reviews with you.

Stadium Journey has reviews of more than 2,600 stadiums (not limited to baseball) in 31 countries around the world. The Stadium Journey writers held their annual meeting at Povich Field on June 30 and posted a glowing review of the Big Train fan experience. Povich Field received a rating of 4.43 out of 5 with the maximum 5 rating for atmosphere, fans, return on investment, and extras. “It is baseball fun for seasoned fans, young families, and everyone in between,” the Stadium Journey review concluded. Stadium Journey has reviewed 175 summer college ballparks, and only one received a higher rating than our 4.43. The Ballpark Brothers website has reviews of hundreds of baseball stadiums. This summer, Povich Field received a rating of four and a half hot dogs out of five. “Shirley Povich Field is Major League classy on a small-town field,” reported the brothers. “Taking in a Big Train game while one is in the DC area is highly recommended.” They really liked the “very cool M*A*S*H-esque mileage post” that celebrates all the Big Train players who have made it to the major leagues.
