Accessible Seating
Accessible seating is available for purchase online at bigtrain.org/tickets, or in person at the ticket table in front of Shirley Povich Field on game days starting an hour and a half before first pitch. Accessible seating is located on the concourse behind the backstop and in front of the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand. Cushioned folding chairs are provided for companions upon request. Ticket holders who need to change their seats for accessible seating can email tickets@bigtrain.org to make a request.

Alcohol Policy
Per the policy of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), alcoholic beverages from outside the ballpark are strictly prohibited from being carried into Shirley Povich Field. For select games, 7Locks Brewing will be selling alcoholic beverages. Maryland law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21. Patrons may be asked to show proper identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages. Underage drinking will not be tolerated, offenders are subject to ejection. 7Locks Brewing and the Bethesda Big Train reserve the right to deny the sale of alcoholic beverages to any of our guests at Shirley Povich Field. Per Montgomery County and Maryland Law, alcoholic beverages are not permitted to leave Shirley Povich Field. The Bethesda Big Train encourages all fans consuming alcohol to take public transportation, rideshare, or have a designated driver.
Alexandria Aces

Animals
Per the policy of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), all animals, with the exception of service animals, are prohibited from entering Shirley Povich Field. See “Service Animals” for more details.
Anthem Singers
If you wish to sing the National Anthem at Shirley Povich Field before a Big Train game, please reach out via email to General Manager Harrison Meyers, Harrison@bigtrain.org, or Assistant General Manager Patrick Chapman, patrick@bigtrain.org.
Autographs
Select players from the Big Train will be available to sign autographs before most home games behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand from 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. for 7:00 p.m. games. Fans are not permitted to seek autographs or photos by either dugout before or during the game, as the players are preparing and playing in important games where they may be scouted. Fans are permitted to seek autographs and photos by the dugouts after the game has ended. Big Train staff will be present to mark the areas that must remain cleared so that the players can exit. Fans are not allowed to come onto the field at any time to seek autographs or photos with players from either team.

Baby Changing Stations
Baby changing stations can be found in both the men’s and women’s restrooms inside the clubhouse at Shirley Povich Field.
Bags
All bags, including purses and coolers, are permitted inside of Shirley Povich Field, provided that the bags do not diminish the experience of other fans. Bags are subject to inspection if deemed necessary by Big Train staff.
Banners/Flags/Signs
The Bethesda Big Trains welcomes fan support in the form of handmade banners and signs. To ensure that all fans will have an unobstructed view of the ballgame, the Big Train does not permit the hanging of banners, flags, and signs anywhere in the ballpark without the permission of Big Train staff. Banners will be removed and confiscated in which content is commercial, political, and/or in bad taste or offensive according to the discretion of Big Train staff. The Big Train reserves the right to remove any banner, flag, or sign at any time and the individuals involved are subject to ejection for repeated offenses. Banners or signs must be made of a light, flexible material, such as paper or cloth, and cannot be made of wood, metal, or other inflexible materials that could be dangerous in a public setting without the permission of Big Train staff. Taping or using any other adhesive material to hang signs on railings, walls, or other signs is strictly prohibited.
Baseball Bats
With the exception of the players and relevant staff, baseball bats may not be brought into Shirley Povich Field. Fans are not allowed to take broken bats from players as they can present a safety hazard. Broken bats that have been taped may be purchased from the team store behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand.
Baseballs
Baseballs are not permitted to be thrown on the concourse, in the stands, in the Davis Family Picnic Pavilion, or against any walls of the clubhouse or the grandstands. Parents are requested to discourage their children from asking players and coaches to give them balls at the dugouts or elsewhere in the ballpark. The players and coaches need to keep their focus on the game and are not allowed to give away balls or bats. Big Train branded baseballs can be purchased from the team store table behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand.
Batting Cages
The batting cages behind the Right Field Bleachers are for the sole use of the players and relevant staff. They are off limits for all fans.
Batting Practice
Fans are invited to watch batting practice upon the opening of gates. Gates will open for all fans 60 minutes prior to first pitch. Batting practice times are approximate and subject to change without prior notification and at the discretion of either team.
Bike Racks
Bike parking is located near the tennis courts outside the third base side of Shirley Povich Field. The Bethesda Big Train is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Birthdays
Fans of all ages are welcome to celebrate a birthday with us in the Davis Family Picnic Pavilion pregame and have a reserved section in the David Povich First Base Lower Grandstand to watch the game by purchasing a picnic. See “Picnics” for more details.
Bottles and Cans
With the exceptions of water bottles and baby bottles, outside bottles and cans, especially glass bottles, are not permitted inside Shirley Povich Field. Any bottles and cans from our concessions partners that need to be recycled can be placed in the large blue bins spread throughout the ballpark.
Box Office
There is no box office at Shirley Povich Field. See “Ticket Table” for more details or visit this link to purchase tickets online and ahead of time.
Broadcast

Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League (CRSCBL)
The Bethesda Big Train is a founding member of the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League (CRSCBL). Founded in 2005, the CRSCBL is an amateur wooden bat summer collegiate baseball league named after Cal Ripken Sr., and a member league of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league comprises eight teams in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Region: the Alexandria Aces, the Bethesda Big Train, Cropdusters Baseball (Olney, MD), the D.C. Grays, the Gaithersburg Giants, the Metro SOCO Braves (Lorton, VA), the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts, and the Southern Maryland Senators (Waldorf, MD). Cameras and Video Equipment
Fans are welcome to bring cameras and video recorders into the ballpark for personal use. Fans are requested to avoid standing in the aisles or on the first or third base walkways while using this equipment. Fans should not obstruct the views of others while taking photos or videos and should refrain from using tripods, monopods, and other camera support pods. The Bethesda Big Train reserves the right to remove any guests who do not cooperate with this policy.

Camps
The Bethesda Big Train are proud to bring back the Big Train Summer Baseball Camp for its 24th summer of affordable fun for kids ages 5-12. And we are very excited to announce the introduction of the Gio Gonzalez Big Train Pitching Camp for kids ages 13-18.
Big Train Manager and Director of Baseball Operations Sal Colangelo runs the camp and has been named the Maryland State Amateur Coach of the Year and the Cal Ripken Senior Collegiate Baseball League (CRSCBL) Manager of the Year by the Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches. He has led the Big Train to nine CRSCBL titles, including five straight from 2016-2021, and was inducted into the CRSCBL Hall of Fame in the 2019 inaugural class. Big Train Associate Head Coach Galvin Morris directs the camp's day-to-day operations in close conjunction with Sal. Coaches Sal and Galvin, along with their star-studded roster of college players from around the country will be the instructors each week at Big Train Summer Baseball Camp teaching kids 5-12 the FUNdamentals of baseball. Some of the best collegiate talent comes to play for the Big Train and more than 150 Big Train alumni have been drafted by Major League teams while 21 have made it to the big leagues. Those 21 include 2022 All-Stars Joe Mantiply (D-Backs) and Ty France (Marines), as well as Brandon Lowe (Rays), Logan Gilbert (Mariners), Hunter Renfroe (Angels), Ken Waldichuk (A's), Hunter Brown (Astros), Alec Burleson (Cardinals), and James Outman (Dodgers).
All campers at the Big Train Summer Baseball Camp will receive excellent instruction in all the fundamentals of the game and get the opportunity to play in a live game each day. Along with our General Camp, which is for kids of all ages and abilities, we also offer specialized camp sessions including Advanced Development Camp, Pitching Camp, and Catching Camp, all of which are for older and more experienced 9-12 year olds.
Each camper who attends Big Train Summer Baseball Camp will receive an official camp t-shirt that gets them free admission to all Big Train home games at Shirley Povich Field during the 2024 regular season. Tickets should be reserved online in advance of each game.

The seating capacity for Shirley Povich Field is 714, with the capability of expanding with standing room only tickets.
Cash
Cash will be accepted by the Bethesda Big Train, but it is not encouraged. We strongly encourage fans to pay with credit cards.
Chairs
Roughly 30 padding folding chairs are available upon request for fans sitting in the ADA section in front of the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand, fans who are assisting nonprofits or sponsors at the tables behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand, or those attending a picnic in the Davis Family Picnic Pavilion. Please ask a member of our staff wearing a green or black polo shirt. They will be happy to assist you!

Child Ticket Policy
Small children only need tickets if they are using a seat. Children do not need to be under a certain age, but only toddlers who can sit on the lap of a parent or guardian will be allowed free admission under this policy.

Credentials
Press credentials may be obtained by members of the media affiliated with established print, radio, television, or website outlets. Media members who only maintain presence or distribution through social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc.) will be considered for credentialing on a case-by-case basis. Press credentials do not grant access to the playing field or dugouts during the game. Face Coverings
Face Coverings are not required at Shirley Povich, but please respect the decision of your fellow fans whether they wear one or not.
Fan Code of Conduct
Courteous behavior is expected of all fans. Any fan infringing on another fan's enjoyment of the game is subject to ejection from the ballpark. Big Train staff will intervene when necessary to support an environment where fans can enjoy the baseball experience free from the following behaviors: Foul/abusive language, including offensive language concerning another person's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, or national origin, or obscene gestures; intoxication or other signs of impairment related to alcohol consumption; displays of affection not appropriate in a public setting; obscene or indecent clothing; any disruption to the progress of the game by a fan's action or unauthorized persons on the playing field; fans seated in a location other than their ticketed seat. If a fan is interfering in your enjoyment of the game, please contact the nearest Big Train staff member.
Fan Feedback
The Big Train are interested in our fans’ opinions and feedback. Throughout the season, fans can provide their feedback through visiting one of our staff members wearing a green or black polo shirt, or emailing faninfo@bigtrain.org.
Fan Interference
Fans are prohibited from touching, attempting to touch, or interfering with a ball in play or a player during a game. Any guest doing so will be ejected from Shirley Povich Field.
First Aid
The First Aid station is located behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand at the guest services table. If you should need medical assistance during the ballgame, please notify your usher, staff member, or visit the guest services table.

Food and Beverage
Fans are discouraged from bringing outside food and beverage, aside from water, into Shirley Povich Field. Peanuts and pistachios in shells are expressly prohibited.

Foul Balls
Baseballs and bats may enter the seating area and fans are reminded to stay alert at all times. Fans are free to keep foul balls that are hit into the stands. All sections of Shirley Povich Field, with the exception of the Right Field Bleachers, have protective netting from line drive foul balls. The Bethesda Big Train are not responsible for any injuries resulting from objects flying into the seating area from the field and ask all fans to remain alert at all times.

Gates and Gate Times
There are two gates to enter Shirley Povich Field. The side gate on the first base side of the ballpark is reserved for Season Ticket Holders and Picnic attendees. The main gate directly behind Home Plate is for all single game ticket holders. The first base gate for season ticket holders and picnic attendees opens 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to first pitch, while all other attendees are permitted to enter the park 1 hour prior to first pitch from the main gate.
Giveaways
A limited number of premium giveaways will be issued to fans entering the ballpark for certain games. Please remember that possession of a game ticket does not ensure or entitle the holder to a promotional item on that date and that only one item will be distributed per person. Giveaway items are issued per person, not per ticket, and fans must be physically present to receive a giveaway. Giveaways will be conducted at the gates when they open, which is one hour prior to all Big Train games. *Gates will open 1 hour and 30 minutes for all fans prior to the game on June 30 for the Big Train/Springnecks Bobblehead*. Please note that all game times and giveaway dates are subject to change.
Group Tickets

Image and Likeness
The holder of Big Train tickets grants permission to Bethesda Community Base Ball Club (dba Bethesda Big Train) and its agents to photograph, video, or otherwise record and make use of the ticket holder's image, likeness, or voice in internet, print, radio, or television coverage of this event. The ticket holder waives any claim for compensation for this usage.
Injuries
Please report all injuries to the nearest Big Train staff member. The First Aid station is located at the guest services table behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand. The Big Train will have a professional trainer on site at all games to assist with any injuries. Fans voluntarily assume all risk and danger of personal injury and all hazards from, or related in any way to, the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior to, during, or subsequent to the event, including, without limitation, injuries caused by bats or balls.
Interference
Spectators may not interfere with balls in the field of play. Fans must give way to the players when they are pursuing a ball. Anyone in violation of this policy will face ejection from the ballpark.

Lost and Found
Items lost during a game may be turned in at the guest services table behind the Miller and Long Home Plate Grandstand. To check for a lost item after a game, please email us at faninfo@bigtrain.org. The item will be held by the Big Train for the remainder of the season before being discarded. Any items found should be turned in immediately to the guest services table, an usher, or any other Big Train staff member.
Lost or Stolen Tickets
Lost or stolen tickets may be replaced or recovered through the Big Train ticketing system with proper photo identification. Tickets will only be replaced for the ticket holder of record. This policy is for the protection of the ticket holder and will be strictly enforced. Persons in possession of tickets that have been reported lost or stolen will be denied entry at the gates. Please email tickets@bigtrain.org for assistance.

The Bethesda Big Train has two mascots, Homer and Bunt. Mascots appear periodically on the ballpark concourses for photo opportunities with fans. You can learn more about Homer here!

Netting
The Bethesda Big Train uses protective netting to prevent line drive and tipped foul balls from reaching the stands. This netting is present in front of all reserved seats in Shirley Povich Field. The Right Field Bleachers are not protected. Fans voluntarily assume all risk and danger of personal injury and all hazards from, or related in any way to, the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior to, during, or subsequent to the event, including, without limitation, injuries caused by thrown bats or balls.

A game is official after five innings have been completed (4 1/2 innings if the home team is ahead).

Parking

Rainout Policy
The Big Train will make every effort possible to play, but if a game is officially postponed due to rain, tickets may be exchanged for other games or are valid for the rescheduled date (unless the reschedule is a doubleheader). Rainout policies vary based on the situation. A policy will be announced after the game is officially postponed. All ticket holders will be emailed the policy. Any game suspended after five innings (or 4 ½ innings if the Big Train are ahead) is considered a complete game. Suspended game tickets cannot be exchanged.
Official Policy as stated in the Terms and Conditions:
In the event of rainouts or other circumstances requiring the postponement of the game identified by the game number hereon or the event, please refer to bigtrain.org or the handle @gobigtrain on social media for the policy applicable to the affected game and retain possession of this ticket as it may need to be presented at a later time. Ticket Holder will be emailed by a Big Train representative with information on rescheduled games or ticket exchanges.
Recycling
Blue recycling cans are available throughout the ballpark to recycle plastic and glass bottles.
Reentry Policy
Reentry is permitted at Shirley Povich Field. Simply let the Big Train staff at the gate know that you intend to reenter the ballpark.

There are two restrooms at Shirley Povich Field. The Men’s restroom is located on the ground floor of the clubhouse behind the Miller & Long Home Plate Grandstand on the third base side. The Women’s restroom is located just next to the main entrance on the ground floor of the clubhouse directly behind the Miller & Long Home Plate Grandstand.

Seating Policy
The Big Train are committed to providing an affordable, guest-friendly, high-quality entertainment experience in a world-class facility. In order to ensure that all guests receive the value of their ticket purchase, only the person with a valid game ticket to a particular seat will be able to occupy that seat. Big Train staff may be checking tickets to safeguard each guest’s individual ticket purchase. Illegal use or tampering with a valid ticket may lead to additional penalties, including removal from the ballpark.
Service Animals
We welcome trained service animals recognized by federal law at Shirley Povich Field. "Service Animals" are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Service animals must be leashed and under the control of their handler at all times. All other animals are prohibited under the policy of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC).

Smoking and Tobacco
Shirley Povich Field is a completely non-smoking and tobacco-free facility, per Maryland and Montgomery County law. There is no exception for electronic cigarettes or any other type of smoking device, nor smokeless tobacco or any other type of marijuana or tobacco product.

Tailgating is not permitted in the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) parking lots around Shirley Povich Field.

Tickets
There are three ticketing options available for Big Train home games: Single Game Tickets, Mini Plans, and Season Tickets. Season Tickets allow you into the ballpark for every Big Train home game and give you access to the same seats for every game. Mini Plans give you the ability to choose your games in advance for a discounted price in packages of 5 or 10 games. Single Game Tickets are available for all Big Train home games. If you have any questions about tickets, please reach out to tickets@bigtrain.org.
Ticket Table
Fans can purchase tickets at the ticket table in front of Shirley Povich Field, however fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid lines. If you are picking up tickets as a part of a group, you can pick them up at the ticket table.

Umbrellas are allowed, but they cannot be opened if they obstruct the view of anyone sitting around or behind you.

Visiting Team General Information
Visiting team staff do not need tickets or credentials to enter Shirley Povich Field, simply let a Big Train staff member know who you are and your role for the game you are working, however, any visiting staff who intend to be in the press do need to submit for a credential. A limited number of credentials are available for visiting team staff, please contact General Manager Harrison Meyers at Harrison@bigtrain.org to request a press box credential. Players and Coaches may enter the ballpark at any time and may refer to the CRSCBL website for the pre-game schedule. Any visiting fans planning on attending may claim the 20 tickets set aside through their respective organizations. Please keep a list of guests and provide this list to Big Train staff when you arrive. Fans can pick up their tickets at the ticket table in front of the ballpark.
Volunteers
Big Train volunteers are an important part of the operation at Shirley Povich Field and are vital in ensuring that the fun continues for all fans. Volunteering with the Big Train is ideal for Middle School and High School students. Students can earn SSL service hours for volunteering, as the Big Train is a non profit organization. Water Fountain
There is one water fountain available at Shirley Povich Field, it is located next to the Team Store behind the Miller & Long Home Plate Grandstand.
Will Call
Will Call is available for picnics and large groups only. Will Call is located at the Ticket Table for large groups, located in front of the main stadium gate, and the first base gate for picnics. Will Call opens 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to scheduled first pitch.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are not available for rent at Shirley Povich Field. Fans are permitted to use their personal wheelchairs and may purchase accessible tickets on any Big Train ticketing page. Please see “Accessible Seating” for details on ticketing.
