Get Ready for RBBA Opening Day on April 5th – Kona Ice Returns for the 2025 Season!

Kona Ice of Potomac is back at Povich Field for the 2025 Big Train baseball season! To kick things off, Kona Ice will be serving up cool, sweet summer treats on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the Rockville Baseball Association (RBBA) Opening Day Celebration. Kona Ice will be joining our friends from Catalyst Hot Dogs to make the event even sweeter!

New owner Norman Crone braved the chilly early March weather at Povich Field to sign an agreement for Kona Ice to serve throughout the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Of course, he wore his best Hawaiian shirt to commemorate the Vendor Agreement Signing Ceremony (because, why not?). Along with their classic and king-sized servings, Kona Ice will be offering a special Souvenir Large cup branded with both the Big Train and Kona logos all summer long!

Mark your calendars for a fun-filled morning of baseball on April 5:

9 a.m. – Celebration of the newest members of the Rockville Baseball Hall of Fame, led by Big Train Historian Bill Hickman, with a breakfast from Bean Bag in the Davis Family Picnic Pavilion. Limited breakfast tickets will be available for purchase soon. 

10 a.m. – RBBA Opening Ceremony & Parade featuring players and coaches.

11 a.m. – Celebrity Softball Game: Watch celebrities take on a team of RBBA coaches!

12 p.m. – Clinics, games, and contests for kids across the Povich Field campus.

It’s going to be a fantastic day at Povich Field, and you won’t want to miss the sweet treats from Kona Ice!
